The Organized Lay is the training, service, and outreach arm of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, committed to equipping laity to actively support the total mission of the church while advancing God’s Kingdom beyond the sanctuary walls. At New Elizabeth AME Church, our Lay ministry is action-driven, community-centered, and faith-grounded.
We serve the community through scholarship initiatives, ensuring students are supported academically and spiritually.
We host Christian-centered fellowship and field events that build connection, joy, and discipleship across generations.
Our ministry provides training and development opportunities for congregational members, strengthening leadership, stewardship, and service capacity within the church.
Through evangelism and marketplace ministry, we meet people where they are, extending Christ’s love into everyday spaces.
We engage in clothing distribution and resource outreach, intentionally blessing individuals and families both inside and outside of the church. We also support health, wellness, and civic engagement efforts that uplift the broader community, reflecting faith in action.
Everything we do is focused on expanding God’s Kingdom through service, outreach, and intentional discipleship.
Join the Organized Lay
To join, please ask any member of the Organized Lay for information. Youth ages 13–17 are welcome to join as Junior Lay members, where they learn, grow, and serve, though they do not vote. Adults 18 and older are encouraged to attend, participate, and help us make a disciple-infused difference, because the harvest is ripe, but the laborers are few.
